31 Day Nail Challenge- J's Day 22

So today's challenge is 'inspired by a song'. I scrolled through my music for a few minutes before seeing Stereo Hearts, by Gym Class Heroes. I know this song came out a long time ago but I still love it! The artwork for this song is orangy and pink so I decided to go with a pink base for a change. I used Revlon Top Speed in Guava, it applied in two easy coats (I probably could have got away with one though). Then I used a dotting tool and some black and white polish to add some nail art.

The camera really caught all my faults on this one haha. Oh well. This was fun to do and I need to keep practicing the nail art!

31 Day Nail Challenge- J's Day 21

Today's nails were 'Inspired by a Colour'. This was pretty vague but I looked through my collection and really wanted to use Urban Outfitter's Bar Stool. It's a nice dusty blue that I have wanted to try out for a while. So I decided to take a stab at ombre nails. My middle finger is two coats of Bar Stool, and the other fingers are Bar Stool mixed with varying amounts of black or white polish.

I really like how this turned out, and will definitely be experimenting with other colours soon!

31 Day Nail Challenge- J's Day 20

So day 20 is water marbled.....
I have done water marbling a few times before... and it's really been hit/miss with me (but mostly miss..). I had a hard time today too, but eventually I just gave up and took the pictures haha. I used China Glaze First Mate and China Glaze Aquadelic (from the electropop line).

I definitely need more practice with this one!

31 Day Nail Challenge- J's Day 19

So day 19 is galaxy nails! I was nervous but excited for this challenge. I haven't tried galaxy nails before but I always loooove the manis when I see them. I used a lot of colours so I will post a picture of those at the end. I started with one coat of China Glaze First Mate, and then used a sponge and went to town! It was tricky to get pictures of these, and I think the ones from my cell phone are best.

Left to right: Orly top coat, NYC Taxi Yellow Creme, Sally Insta-Dri Whirlwind White, Wet n Wild  Night Prowl, Quo Lilac Lust, no-named sparkle, Essie Lapis of Luxury, China Glaze First Mate and China Glaze Auquadelic
I do like the final product, but I think I will have to try this one a few more times to get it just right.

31 Day Nail Challenge - J's Day 18

Day 18 was half moons!
I started with three coats of OPI's Mimosa's For Mr. and Mrs. and then one coat of China Glaze's First Mate. I really like this colour combination :)

31 Day Nail Challenge- J's Day 17

Hey guys, i'm back at school and have some time to catch up on some posts here. So day 17 was glitter! I had a lot of fun doing this one.. I love all the glitter polishes I own and wanted to use them all... I settled for just four though :) I started with one coat of China Glaze Tinsel Town, then one coat of Urban Outfitter's After Hours on top. Then I did a gradient with Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear in Rockstar Pink. Finally, I topped it all off with Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear In the Spotlight, which is packed full of bar glitter. Here is the result:

This was of course brutal to remove.. but I think it was worth it. So sparkly :)

Sorrrrrrrrry!

hey guys, just wanted to let everyone know why we have been so absent from the blog. Caroline has been swamped with school- midterms etc and I am back in Kingston, my hometown, for the weekend in a ringette tournament. I have been doing the nails everyday but my camera is super faulty at the moment so it hasn't been working out. Hopefully we will get all caught up on the challenge this week!
